Civil Engineering MS: Construction Management Focus

Swanson's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department proudly offers a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a Construction Management Focus. This 30-credit, online professional (non-thesis) program covers a wide range of industry topics enhancing the students' capabilities to address the current issues and challenges in the construction industry. Our curriculum builds upon a student’s technical background to develop the skills essential to the successful completion of construction projects as measured by time, cost, quality and client satisfaction objectives.

Graduates of this specialized program are equipped with advanced technical engineering knowledge combined with the confidence to tackle complex business, financial, ethical and legal concerns relevant to the construction industry. Program faculty with decades of industry experience & expertise in today’s best practices in construction management make this a unique and practical applied learning environment. Who Should Apply?

Applicants typically have a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a BS in another engineering discipline with at least three years of relevant industry experience. However, we frequently admit students from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds beyond engineering. All candidates are evaluated holistically, and those with non-engineering degrees and related work experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered on an individual basis.
