Need help in your classes. A list of the tutoring services available on campus is given below.

Engineering Tutoring Services

The classrooms, BEH621 and GS138, have classes in them most of the day and are thus not available as an open lab. However, there is an additional lab in room BEH-669. These labs have computers with all the required software, and they are there for you to use. Room BEH669 is typically open from 7 am to 9 pm every weekday, for a list of tutoring hours or open lab times see the 669 schedule.

To help you with your ENGR homework, we have a number of types of help.

  1. The TAs for ENGR0011, ENGR0711 and ENGR0012 have a number of office hours throughout the week in the open computer lab in 669 Benedum Hall. Any TA can help you, you do not have to go to your TA. For a list of the teaching assistants office hours click here.
  2. Undergraduate teaching assistants will also be holding office hours in the EXCEL Tutorial Center.

Math, Chemistry and Physics Tutoring Services

There is a number of services offered on this campus. The Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics Departments offer free drop in tutoring throughout the day. The College of Arts and Sciences also has a free Academic Resource Center located in the basement of GSCC. The schedule for these programs is given below:

  1. The MAC (Mathematics Assistance Center) Is Available The Mathematics Department is now offering free assistance to students in Mathematics courses. The MAC (Mathematics Assistance Center) is located on the 3rd floor of Thackeray and is staffed by mathematics graduate and undergraduate students. There is no appointment necessary. The hours are as follows:

  3. Free tutoring sessions are held in the fishbowl (room 101 CSC) for all chemistry students
  4. Physics Resource Room in Thaw Hall Room 312

Pitt EXCEL Program offers free tutoring

The Pitt EXCEL Program offers free tutoring services to engineering students, focusing primarily on the freshman engineering curriculum (physics, chemistry, and calculus). Tutoring assistance in upper level engineering courses is based on the specific expertise of the tutors.
