Our Mission
The Safety and Security Committee is responsible for promoting the health, safety, and security of all members of the University community. We commit ourselves to identify safety concerns, seek solutions, and provide education and awareness. The Safety and Security Committee partners with University departments and local community organizations to work towards a securer environment. We believe a safe environment sustains a vibrant and prosperous University community.

The University of Pittsburgh Police Deparment issues crime alerts notifying the University community of incidents that occurred on campus.

We appreciate your time spent completing the safety questionnaire. Your feedback is important to us to be able to identify security concerns of the University community.

If you see suspicious activity on campus, if someone is ill or injured, or you need to report a crime or emergency, call 811 from any campus phone or 412-624-2121 from your cellular or off-campus phone. Fire alarms and yellow call boxes are also available across campus.
