Dr. Weber
Douglas J. Weber, PhD is an assistant professor in the
Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He also
holds a secondary appointment in the department of
Bioengineering. Dr. Weber earned his Ph.D. in
Bioengineering from Arizona State University, Tempe,
Arizona in 2001, and received his postdoctoral training
in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Stein at the University
of Alberta in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. In 2003, he
joined the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Physical
Education and Recreation as an Assistant Professor. Dr.
Weber is director of the department’s Rehab Neural
Engineering Lab where he and his staff conduct
fundamental research into the role and nature of sensory
feedback in motor control. His mission is to advance
rehabilitation science and practice through scientific
discovery and the development of new technologies for
assisting and restoring motor function after nervous
system injury and limb loss.
