Professional Interests

Dr. Wulandana’s research interest has been focused on elucidating the effects of physiologically abnormal stresses on the structure and mechanical properties of vascular tissues using in vitro model systems.  His aim is to develop constitutive models that incorporate the structural components of tissues as well as their responses to normal and abnormal loading conditions introduced by pathological geometrical alteration, damaged, or surgical procedures. The constitutive models are expected to help predicting tissue behavior under these abnormal circumstances. Dr. Wulandana is also interested in mechanics of valvular tissues, blood rheology and problems involving complex fluid and heat transfer.
