His current work centers on acoustic wave biosensors, nanomaterials and on-chip assembly of nano-devices, micro fuel cell power generation devices and piezoelectric microactuators and microsensors. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tsinghua University in 1987 and 1989, respectively, and Ph.D. degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1998. Prior joining the University of Pittsburgh in year 2000, Dr. Wang was an R&D engineer and materials scientist in Lexmark International, Inc. Lexington, Kentucky where he worked on piezoelectric and electrostatic microactuators for inkjet printhead development. Dr. Wang's primary research interests are in microsensors and microactuators, micro fabrication and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and miniaturized power generation devices. Dr. Wang is recipient of Year 2006 IEEE-UFFC-S outstanding paper award and the William Kepler Whiteford Faculty Fellow in the School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He has published over 40 referred journal papers and more than 20 papers in referred conference proceedings, and is inventor for 4 US patents on piezoelectric devices. Dr. Wang is a member of IEEE, the Materials Research Society (MRS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the American Ceramic Society. |
