In February, the MAC Co-Sponsored and Event with the Honorable Frank Dermody. The discussion centered around the critical lack of
well trained workers in the machining disciplines and
how that threatens the economic future of Western
Pennsylvania as the Clean Energy Opportunity Emerges. We focused on expanding training availability,
increasing access to training for targeted populations, and advocating readiness for the CleanEnergy
Industry Opportunity and midsized manufacturers
in Western PA.
Over one hundred area manufacturers, legislators and agents of innovation attended the event, and many attendees were recruited as contributors for future events.

CENTER
From the PA Turnpike
Take PA Turnpike to Exit 48 – Allegheny Valley (Pittsburgh/New Kensington)
Upon exiting toll booth, move to far right and take Pittsburgh exit ramp
(this puts you onto Freeport Road South). Stay in right lane.
At third traffic light, turn right onto PA route 910 West
(Giant Eagle Get Go on your right)
Just before second traffic light, veer right onto Gulf Lab Road
Follow for about ½ mile ±, turn left into Visitor’s Parking Lot C
Once you have parked, go into the Security Guard house
and give your name, picture ID and destination
When you have been cleared for entry, the
attending guard will then direct you to the MAC.
From RT 28
Take Route to Exit 11 – (Harmar/Oakmont)
Turn left at traffic light on to PA route 910 east.
Stay in left lane
At next traffic light, turn left onto Gulf Lab Road.
Follow for about ½ mile ±, and turn left into Visitor’s Parking Lot C.
Once you have parked, go in to the security guard house and give your name,
picture ID and destination
When you have been cleared for entry, the attending guard
will then direct you to the MAC.
