Ext. Crit.: Border lines between adult skin areas partly disappeared. *Tail oblong trianglular in dorsal aspect, lengh about 1/10 of body length*.
Int. Crit.: Only small area of strongly shrivelled larval skin present rostral to forelimb. *Spinal gangl. 8 situated at posterior end of lumbar area of spinal cord*.
*Fusion of adult proc. oticus with ear capsule; beginning
of ossification in pars media, and beginning of
chondrification in pars externa plectri*. *Intervertebral
joints formed; 13th and 14th pair of vertebral
arches in process of resorption. *Notochord and somites
disappear in tail region*. *Posterior end of
epipubis fused with pelvic girdle*. *Adult abdominal
vein established*.
Primitive tongue mushroom-shaped in cross section; cranial
part forming free tip; openings and proximal portions of
pharyngo-tympanic ducts fused*. *Epithelium of
colon differentiating*.
