Errors!!!!
A few tips on dealing with computer problems.
Upon receiving an error from a computer the first
thing to try is the same process again in a similar if not identical
manner. This will confirm that no buttons were bumped and that the
software and hardware have not experienced a small glitch. If this
does reproduce the error, take note of the steps to pass along to the
technical staff, if the following steps fail to work.
Reboot the computer and try again. Many times a
momentary problem will cause the system to have difficulty until a part
of the system is reset. If the computer works after a reboot but
requires you to reboot more than once a day, contact the technical
support staff.

If a reboot doesn't solve your
problem and you can afford to wait about 10 to 30 minutes before trying
again please do so.
The last step is to verify that there are no configuration settings that
are configured incorrectly and that all of the files you are working
with are in the right locations.
The systems in the Industrial Engineering Department are configured to
prevent most software from being installed. Please do not attempt
to change the configurations of the machines.
