- Areas of Expertise: Mathematical Programming; Production, Manufacturing and Operations Analysis; Applied Probability and Statistics
Dr. Rajgopal's interest are in the theory, methodology and applications of operations research.
Specific topics that he has worked on include mathematical programming
(especially geometric programming) and optimization in systems reliability.
With respect to applications, his primary interests are in the broad area of supply chains, production
and operations analysis, including such topics as distribution & logistics, inventory control, scheduling,
just-in-time production, MRP-II systems and lean manufacturing. Recently he has also developed a strong interest in
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems and their applications.
Dr. Rajgopal is a member of Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He is also a registered professional engineer in the state of Pennsylvania.
