IIE September 2001 Meeting
WHAT“Behind The Scenes” - Tour of Heinz Field
Our Tour guide will be Don Colton, Assistant Director of Stadium Operations. Don has been involved in the management of Three Rivers Stadium, the construction of Heinz Field, and now the ongoing management of Heinz Field. He will highlight the features of the new stadium, discuss the construction process, and explain the ongoing operation of the facility.
WHERE:  Heinz Field, North Shore - Pittsburgh, PA. Meet at the stadium's South Plaza, under the scoreboard.

WHEN:  Wednesday, September 19, 2001.   Registration at 4:45 PM sharp, Tour at 5:00 PM.

DINNER:  Following the tour at Atria's, PNC Park (order from the menu).

COST:  $10.00 (IIE members) + cost of dinner,  $15 (non-members) + cost of dinner

NOTE: Due to limitations on the tour group size, we will allow only one guest per chapter member. If you have additional guests, they will be added to a "waiting list" and included as space permits

IIE October 2001 Meeting
WHATIIE Student Night Meeting

WHERE:  The Holiday Inn Select, University Center at 100 Lytton Avenue in Oakland.

WHEN:  Tuesday, October 16th, 2001

TIME: The program this year will begin with a social hour from 6:00 to 7:00 with a cash bar and hors d’ouvres.  Dinner will begin at 7:00 and will be followed by a panel discussion focusing on consulting as an industrial engineering profession.

DINNER:  At the meeting.  The three choices are:

  • Margarita Salmon:  Fresh salmon filet marinated, grilled and topped with a Tequila salsa. 
  • Teriyaki Beef Stir Fry: Sliced grilled beef marinated in teriyaki sauce served over rice.
  • Pasta Primavera: Pasta in a white cream sauce topped with fresh vegetables.
COST:  $30.00 for Senior Chapter Members. The cost for a Senior Chapter Member to sponsor a student is an additional $25.  Senior chapter members are strongly encouraged to sponsor student members.

Directions from Downtown:  Take Route 376 East toward Monroeville to the PA Turnpike (Route 76).  Take the PA Turnpike (Route 76) East (follow the Harrisburg and East signs) to Exit 75, New Stanton.  Take Route 70 West (follow Greensburg/Wheeling, WV sign) for 3 miles to the Madison exit (54).  Turn left onto Borough Line Road.  Turn right onto Waltz Mill Road.  Take the first right into the Waltz Mill parking lot.  (It takes approximately 25 minutes from Monroeville.)

Directions from Downtown:

  1. Take Parkway West (I-279 South) to Business 60/Moon.
  2. Follow Business 60 North through 2 stop lights (Beer School Road)
  3. At third stop light, Make a LEFT Hangar Road (US Airways Maintenance)
  4. After 2nd stop sign, move into left lane and make LEFT onto next road (Hangar Road continues)
  5. Sign in at Hangar 3 guard station.

Directions:

FROM THE PITTSBURGH AIRPORT

    Take Route 60 going towards Moon Twp/Beaver.  Get off at the second exit called Flaugherty Run Road.  At stop sign, go straight.  Go 3 more stop signs, and make a right onto Rt.51/Stoops Ferry Road.  At traffic light, make a Left.  At the next light, turn Left onto the Sewickley Bridge.  After crossing the bridge, make a Right at the light onto Route 65 South.  Go approximately 2 miles, and follow the signs to I-79 North (toward Erie).
DIRECTIONS FROM I-79 START HERE
    Take I-79 North to the Warrendale exit.  At the end of the ramp, make a Left. Go approximately 50 yards and make a Right onto Brush Creek Road.  (There should
    be a sign for Thornhill Industrial Park.)   Follow approximately 1 mile.  At the third light, make a left at the light onto Thorn Hill Drive.  AMERICAN EAGLE is the first business on the left-hand side.  Turn left into the parking lot.  You will see picnic tables and steps.  Enter through the DC/Employee Entrance.  You will see designated Visitor Parking.   Please sign in at registration.
