Transfers International Transfer Students

If you are an international student at a university or college in the US or abroad and wish to transfer into Pitt Engineering, refer to the following guidelines:

 

iNTERNATIONAL TRANSFER gUIDELINES

To be considered for admission, international students must submit:

  • an application through the Office of International Services.
  • secondary school (high school) academic records or transcripts, examination results such as A Levels, West African Examination Council official results, or other official documents that verify the completion of secondary education.
  • an official academic record, mark sheet, transcript, and/or examination results from any and all universities or colleges attended after secondary school. Please include official course descriptions or examination syllabi for all of the courses or subjects completed at that university. If these documents are not officially issued in English, then certified English translations must also be submitted. Students must have a QPA equivalent to or above 2.50.
  • the results of an IELTS or TOEFL exam if from a country where English is not the official language. The Office of International Services provides a list of exempted countries. The minimum results accepted are:
    • IELTS = 6.5
    • TOEFL IBT (Internet Based Test) = 80
    • TOEFL CBT (Computer Based Test) = 213
    • TOEFL PBT (Paper Based Test) = 550

Students wishing to receive AP or IB credit must have their scores sent upon their admission to the School of Engineering. The School of Engineering cannot accept CLEP credit.

Please note that International Applicants for Transfer are subject to the following deadlines:

Fall Term February 1st
Spring Term October 1st
Summer Term March 1st
