Getting In

Freshman Applicants

In order to be considered for admission to the Swanson School of Engineering, you must have taken high school courses in chemistry, physics, and trigomomentry/precalculus. You must also submit scores from either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT).

Transfer Students

The Swanson School of Engineering encourages applications from transfer students. Transfer students are those who have attended other colleges and earned 24 or more credits by the time of entrance to the Swanson School of Engineering. Typically, transfer applicants must possess a 2.50 overall grade point average on a 4.00 scale at the institution previously attended. However, all transfer applicants are encouraged to meet with the undergraduate coordinator in their department of choice or with the transfer coordinator in the Freshman Engineering Program Office to discuss their individual situation.

Scholarships

The Swanson School of Engineering sponsors a comprehensive scholarship program to recognize outstanding academic achievement. Engineering merit scholarship are awarded solely on the basis of scholastic achievement without regard to financial need and are offered in addition to general University merit scholarships. Freshman applicants who wish to be considered for academic scholarships need only submit an admissions application and supporting credentials to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid by January 15.
