The Afterlife

Engineering is one of the most challenging things that I have ever done. But I like the things that I am learning and I am confident that this program will prepare me for my future.—Adam Iddriss

They say the years you spend in college are some of the best years of your life. So what happens after you graduate? Simply put, Pitt Engineering graduates are well prepared for future challenges.

Each year, Pitt Engineering students are recruited by companies and governmental agencies from across the country and admitted to the nation’s best graduate and professional schools. Representatives from more than 300 companies and organization visit campus annually to interview students for permanent positions. These companies know that Pitt Engineers have what it takes to succeed after graduation, so they come to campus with the sole purpose of hiring.

The Swanson School of Engineering helps ensure that students are ready for the interviews, not only by providing the students with the education they need to be successful, but also by giving the students the resources they need to find a job. Throughout each academic year, the co-op office provides interviewing seminars, the placement office offers programs and job fairs, and the Engineering Student Council sponsors a Corporate Expo. (By the way, these job fairs may be the only time until graduation you see your fellow engineers in a suit!)
