Information Session
Selecting the engineering school that is right for you is a crucial decision, and one of the most important steps in this process is the campus visit.
With this in mind, the Freshmen Engineering Program Office offers Daily Tours and Information Sessions, for any students/families who would like to learn more about engineering at Pitt. These are offered Monday and Friday at 12 p.m. and 1pm in 125 Gardner Steel Conference Center. In addition, a Tour and Information Sessions will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 1pm.
Each session will provide visitors with a brief tour of the engineering facilities, given by a current student, as well a an opportunity to meet with one of our freshmen advisors.

5 Steps to a Successful Visit
- Make an appointment with the Freshmen Engineering Office. Call us toll free at 1-866-624-ENGR (3647). Appointments are strongly encouraged.
- Make additional appointments around campus. If you would like to arrange a campus tour, contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. (You might also want to check out the Virtual Campus Tour.)
- Prepare. Think about what you want out of an engineering school. Come up with a list of questions to ask while you are visiting. "The only stupid questions are the ones that are never asked."
- Get the most out of your visit. Relax and be yourself, the visit is purely for you. Find out as much as you can about the school by asking any questions that you might have.
- Take notes. Be sure to hold onto the card of the person(s) you meet with. Also, jot down what you liked and didn't like about the campus, so that you do not forget anything that you saw.
