Outreach
Our mission of the outreach is to enlighten women and underrepresented students in science and engineering through hands-on laboratory experiences. Moreover, our programs are designed to help the students obtain maximum research experiences by chances to use advanced research equipme- nts, such as Atomic Forced Microscope (AFM), optical microscope, microbial fuel cells. Recently we are involved in 1) PJAS (Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science) workshop, 2) Support of a science project for junior high school students, 3) A public presentation at the Carnegie Science Center, and 4) the Pittsburgh Neighborhood Academy as a volunteer PI. We also help various work groups and volunteers for science positions in our society to provide scientific basis for understand- ing nanoscience and nanotechnology. And coming activity is research experience for teachers(RET).
Please feel free to contact us for more information about our outreach activities.
