Course Textbook:     

·         Fundamentals of Electromagnetics with Engineering Applications by S. M. Wentworth, Wiley, ISBN 0-471-26355-9  

·         Notes on antenna will be provided

·         All announcements, handouts, assignments, and solutions are available online.

 

Course Contents, Assignments and Practices:

·         4 chapters including transmission line, uniform plane wave, waveguide, and antenna

·         4-5 lectures per chapters, 1-2 in-class examples per lectures

·         1 5-question assignment per chapter

·         5-10 illustration questions per chapter

·         1 test per chapter for transmission line, uniform plane wave, and waveguide.

·         The final will cover all contents.

 

Marking SchemeFinal marks (unofficial) available 3 days after the final.

Assignment:      15% (20 questions)

Quiz #1:            15% (4 questions)

Quiz #2:            15% (4 questions)

Quiz #3:            15% (4 questions)

Final exam:       50% (6 questions)

Total:                110% (the final grade is the sum of quizzes, assignments, and the final, no curve.)

 

Letter grades:

A+: 95%-110%            A: 85%-94%                 A-: 80%-84%                B(±): 70%-79%      

C(±): 60%-69%             D(±): 55%-60%            F: 0%-54.9% (absolutely cut-off 54.9%)
