Prospective Postdoc Research Fellows
I am currently looking to hire Postdoc Research Fellows in my group. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree in computer engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science backgrounds are welcome to apply. In addition to all the requirements that I expect from my RAs (see above), successful candidates must have strong publication records and excellent project management and people skills to help coordinate my research labs.

Prospective Visitng Scholars
I welcome any collaboration from scholars of different inisitutions. If you are currently working at different universities/research labs/corporates and you are interested in my research and would like to visit ECE Department at University of Pittsburgh for a short/extended exchange and/or sbatical experience, my research group can be your sponsor! Please contact me for more details. Scholars from overseas are very welcome!
Prospective Master Students
If you are interested in doing a Master Thesis and/or an Independent Research Study and need a research topic, I will be happy to advise you. I generally do not hire Master students to be my RAs, though. If you are currently in the Master track and are seriously considering to pursue a Ph.D. and work for me, I may ask you to first do a credit-based independent study with me before I considering hiring you. This will also give you a good opportunity to see what it is like to be my RAs.
If you are interested, please include the code "2195" in your email subject line or your email will be automatically deleted. This code will tell me that you read this information page and you have at least done some homework.

Prospective Undergraduate Students
I welcome sharp and motivated undergraduate students to work with me on a credit-based Independent Research Study, a Senior Design Project, or an Honor Undergraduate Thesis. This is especially true if you intend to pursue graduate degrees (Ph.D. and/or M.S., in Pitt or elsewhere). You should be a strong programmer (C, C++, Java, and/or Matlab) and a quick thinker. You should also have a good knowledge about computer organization.

A Note to Minority and Female Students:
I am a strong advocate of promoting engineering and scientific research and education for mnority and female students. I am currently serving as a faculty mentor for University of Pittsburgh Mentoring Program for Excellence in Engineering (MPE2, see my award in 2008), where I proudly take a proactive role to nourish the character and scholarship of underrepresented minorities and female students and dynamically engage them in state-of-the-art scientific and engineering research. If you are a miniority and/or a female student and are interested in joining my research group in any above categories, you are strongly encouraged to contact me by following the respective instructions according to your category of interest.
