Summer Engineering Academy

The Summer Engineering Academy (SEA) is a residential program that enables students to make a smooth transition from high school to college. During SEA, students learn essential study skills for college and receive an intensive review of chemistry, pre-calculus and physics concepts, with an introduction to problem solving. By attending this program students can prepare for success during the first year of college.

Goals of SEA

  • Bridge the gap between high school and university level engineering coursework.

  • Review and strengthen academic skills necessary for success in first year engineering courses.

  • Improve study habits and provide students with skills that will enable them to manage time efficiently and use University resources effectively.

  • Examine engineering as a career and motivate participants to complete engineering degree requirements.

  • Build a sense of community among students and develop their networking skills.
