About Us

Welcome to the Engineering Office of Diversity

The Engineering Office of Diversity's main goal is to ensure an environment that is inclusive regardless of one's race or gender. Comprehensive programs must be in place to create a community in which each member - faculty, staff, or student is treated with respect.

Diversity refers to those differences (race, religion, gender, national origin, physical ability, sexual orientation, age, geographic origin, socio-economic level, culture, language, ethnic background, intellectual skills, and others) that individuals bring to the school while contributing to the mission of the School of Engineering.

The Engineering Office of Diversity (EOD) is committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, staff, and students are valued for their unique cultures, experiences, and perspectives. The EOD works to create this environment by building a diverse workforce and student body, and by developing equitable academic supports designed to utilize the strengths of the school to meet the different academic needs of its student body without discrimination. In this environment, each member of our community has the opportunities and support needed to reach his or her full potential. Working alongside the Faculty Advisory Committee on Diversity, the EOD has created and implemented a Diversity Action Plan (DAP) to guide the School of Engineering in its diversity efforts.
