Dr. Xinyan Tracy Cui
Assistant Professor, Bioengineering,
McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine
Center for Neural Basis of Cognition
University of Pittsburgh
Ph.D. (Macromolecular Science and Engineering), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Dr. Cui received her B.S and M.S. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. She came to the US in 1997 and worked on biocompatible and conductive coatings for neural microelectrode arrays at the University of Michigan under the direction of Professor Dave Martin. Immediately after graduation in 2002, she joined the company Unilever as a research scientist working on skin biomaterials and tribology. After gaining one year of industrial experience, she came to Pitt and joined the faculty of Bioengineering. Her research interest is interfacing biological systems, mostly the nervous system, via electroactive conductive polymer and smart biomaterials.
