The Co-Op Program
The Cooperative Education Program at Pitt is one of the most exciting opportunities available to engineering students and employers. Our Program is an educational program that prepares students for professional careers by combining academic training with practical work experience in industry, business, and government services. Co-op students typically alternate periods of full-time work with periods of full-time, on-campus study. They complete a minimum of three work rotations before they graduate.
Approximately forty-five percent of the Swanson School of Engineering students participate in our Program.
While the majority of our students are engineering students, we also often have co-op positions available for chemistry or computer science students!
2008 Co-Op Student of the Year
We are proud to announce our Co-Op Student of the Year for 2008, Kaleigh Muller, industrial engineering department, and co-op student with UPS Customer Solutions!
2008 Co-Op Employer of the Year
Our Co-Op Employer of the Year for 2008 is FedEx Ground.
