Undergraduate Graduation Requirements

To graduate, a student must fulfill all of the following requirements.

  1. Complete a minimum of 124 credits including transfer credits.
  2. Satisfy the particular course requirements for the BS program in computer engineering (see Note below). This includes presenting at least one senior design project at the Senior Design Expo held each fall and spring term.
  3. Complete at least 26 credits of the senior year at the University of Pittsburgh.
  4. Have a minimum overall cumulative QPA of 2.00.
  5. Have a minimum computer engineering QPA of 2.00.
  6. Complete an Application for Graduation before the deadline date. (These are available in the undergraduate office and should be returned there.)

Note: An individual "Check-off Sheet," with the grades for the courses completed, may be obtained from the COE office upon request of the student.

Honors

To receive Graduation Honors, the student must have earned at least 68 credits at the University of Pittsburgh, and must meet the following criteria.

  1. Cum Laude—requires a minimum overall cumulative QPA of 3.25.
  2. Magna Cum Laude—requires a minimum overall cumulative QPA of 3.50.
  3. Summa Cum Laude—requires a minimum overall cumulative QPA of 3.75.

Computer engineering is the largest undergraduate program in the School of Engineering.
