EducationPhD (Electrical Engineering), University of Pittsburgh, 1970 Professional InterestsJames T. Cain's current research falls in the area of real time systems with current work concentrated on control of general classes of nonlinear systems and analysis and control of robot manipulators in particular. The work in control of classes of nonlinear systems centers around a technique for linearizing nonlinear systems called pseudolinearization. Some research involves identifying conditions that define classes of systems for which robust controllers can be designed that are based on the pseudolinearized systems. Work has also been done in developing algorithms for optimal parameter identification. |
A multidisciplinary faculty and staff provide a high-quality education and assistance.
