Faculty and Staff John Brigham
Education
Research Interests:Dr. Brigham’s research is focused on fundamental concepts in mechanics and computation which span a broad range of applications, from assessing service life of civil, marine, or aircraft structures to diagnosing physiological changes in biological structures. His particular interests include developing efficient computational methods for the representation of multiphysics and multiscale systems, solution strategies for inverse problems associated with nondestructive and noninvasive testing, and numerical modeling of biological systems. His recent work has focused on developing model-updating strategies for the solution of inverse problems which address the computational challenges in both the numerical representation of complex systems and optimization approaches to inverse solutions.
