TOTAL CREDITS REQUIRED FOR BS DEGREE 129-135
*In order to qualify to take BIOSC 1500 or 1940 one must take BIOSC 1000 for the Biochemistry requirement (i.e., not ChE 1530).
** Chem 1605 should be taken concurrently with Chem 1600 (i.e., in Semester 7). While one may take Chem 1430 concurrently with Chem 1480, it is preferable to take Chem 1430 after completing Chem 1480 (e.g., in Semester 7).
NOTES:
- Co-op students register for ENGR 1090, 1 credit, during each of their 3 rotations for a total of 3 credits. These 3 credits satisfy a ChE, Technical, or Professional Elective requirement.
- Advanced placement scores from the SCHOOL you transferred from MUST be received by our department for them to transfer to PITT. Simply giving us your transcript with "AP" on it from your previous school is not sufficient.
- Unless specified in a 3/2 agreement, for transfer of classes from other universities, our department CANNOT give you more credits than you took. For example, if your calculus 1 class was a 3 credit course, as opposed to our 4 credit course, you will receive only 3 credits but you do NOT have to make up the one credit with a math or science elective.
-Honors Physics 0475, 0476 replaces Physics 0174, 0175
-Honors Math (4 courses) 0235 (with a C- to a D- grade), 0240, either 1180 or 1185, and Advanced Mathematics course (see Semester 4) replaces regular 4 course Math sequence.
-Honors Math (3 courses) 0235 (with a C or higher grade), 0240, and Advanced Mathematics course (see Semester 4) replaces regular 4 course Math sequence.
-Honors Chemistry 0760, 0770 replaces Chemistry 0110/0960, 0120/0970.

___ Senior year (26 credit minimum) was completed at Pitt.

___ Obtained a minimum cumulative quality point average of 2.0 for all courses completed at the University of Pittsburgh and all departmental courses.

___ Any course in which an F, U, I, G, W or Z grade was received was not used to satisfy any course requirement. A D- (or higher) grade is required in each course.

___ A writing intensive, W, section of any course in the curriculum was completed. This requirement is different from and in addition to the composition course requirement.

___ Attendance of a University of Pittsburgh Lab Health and Safety seminar during the Sophomore, Junior or Senior year (or a letter or email to the Undergraduate Secretary from your co-op or intern employer verifying that you have completed health & safety training).

___ Application for graduation was filled out and returned to the Office of Administration (253 Benedum) before the deadline for the term in which you want to graduate. The deadline is typically near the end of the first month of the term in which you plan to graduate, so apply during the first week of the term.

___ A School of Engineering Senior Survey was completed before graduation. This may be in the form of an electronic survey or a hard-copy survey.

___ Final report on independent study classes and/or co-op report were filed in the main office. All CHE 1097 students must have also competed in the PPG Research Contest prior to graduation.

___ A senior placement form was filled out during the last month of your last term and turned in to the Undergraduate Secretary (1249 BENDM).
