ChE Undergraduates Receive Scholarships for Studies in Petroleum Engineering

 

Joe Dudas (top) and Zachary Heilman (bottom) have been awarded Lewis E. and Elizabeth W. Young Scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year by the Pennsylvania- Western Section of the Woman's Auxiliary of the American Institute of Mining Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, Inc (WAAIME) in conjunction with the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, Inc (AIME).

Professor Badie I. Morsi provided the nomination for this year's scholarship recipients.  Young Scholarships are made available to students pursing degrees in the Earth Science field, including petroleum engineering.  Mr. Duda and and Mr. Heilman are chemical engineering majors pursuing minors in petroleum engineering.

The Women's Auxiliary to the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, Inc. (WAAIME) was formed 1916 in New York City. There are approximately 1000 members organized in twenty sections across the United States and two international sections in Mexico City and in Lima, Peru. WAAIME promotes education in the mining, minerals and petroleum engineering fields.
