Professor Emeritus EducationPhD (Chemical Engineering), Northwestern University, 1951 Professional InterestsPrior to joining the department in 1960, Professor Tierney, was a research engineer at the Pure Oil Company research laboratories, Assistant Professor at Purdue University and Department Manager for process control systems at Univac. He has had extensive experience in Latin America, including two years in Chile developing a graduate program in Chemical Engineering. Professor Tierney's research interests include reactor engineering, catalysis, process modeling and process control. Current research projects include:
