Professional Interests

Anthony Cugini is Director of the Fuels and Process Chemistry Division in the Office of Science and Technology at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). He is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Anthony’s primary research interests are in the area of Ultra-Clean Fuels. He has several specific interests at NETL including separations technology for hydrocarbon separation and hydrogen separation from mixed gas streams using membrane technology, advanced carbon production from hydrocarbon sources, fuels properties, and has been instrumental in constructing a computational chemistry effort at NETL with a primary focus of fuels chemistry.
