The Campaign for Engineering Legacy Funds

Mary  Zeis (BSChE ’78) and Chuck Bleil (BSChE ’78) met at Pitt while enrolled in the chemical engineering program. After receiving their degrees, the couple moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, to work for Procter & Gamble Co. and later married. Both have had varied and successful careers at the company. Mary is now an associate director of research and development and Chuck is a purchases group manager.

With family residing in Pittsburgh and Erie, Pa., the couple makes frequent trips to Western Pennsylvania. Mary also serves on the Visiting Committee for the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, which advises the chair and faculty of the department. Gifts to their Engineering Legacy Fund are being matched by Procter & Gamble, and the income from their fund will support initiatives in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.

Donors Empower Pitt

Facilities, professorships, scholarships, fellowships—all are crucial.
