Academic Programs

The Swanson School of Engineering has seven academic departments as well as Freshman Engineering. All of the departments are housed in Benedum Hall and collaboration between the departments is very common. Interdiscplinary research is important to the school.

Bioengineering

The Department of Bioengineering at the Swanson School of Engineering combines hands-on experience with the solid fundamentals students need to advance themselves in research, medicine, and industry. Its graduate and undergraduate programs are ranked 15th and 18th in the nation, respectively, by U.S. News and World Report.
